A long, loose khaki trench coat with a check facing at the front edges and cuffs, one row of buttons and raglan sleeves.
Check-lined edges, one row of buttons
- Check facing: a brown, cream and black check lines the front edges, so it flashes when the coat is worn open.
- Turn-back cuffs: roll the sleeves once and the same check shows at the wrist.
- Single-breasted front: one row of tan buttons from the collar down the front.
- Slanted welt pockets: topstitched pockets set at an angle on the hips.
- Raglan sleeves: the sleeve seam runs up to the collar, which keeps the shoulder soft and easy.
The cut is loose and straight, with room for a thick jumper underneath. On the model the hem lands at mid-calf, so it reads long on most heights. The shell is thin, which makes this a spring and autumn coat rather than a winter one.
